🇳🇱 Last Tuesday, a group of more than 30 armed men took part in a shootout in the Dutch town of Overasselt. Allegedly, they were trying to recover more than a ton of stolen cocaine.

They ended up killing a 51-year-old security guard and injuring two police officers.

As of right now, 35 suspects have been arrested, including two French minors, but details surrounding the incident remain scarce.

The shootout has sparked a debate in the Netherlands over drug-related violence and the illicit economy that hides behind it. We spoke about it to our colleague Nina from @nlentr over in Amsterdam 👆
